  • We’ll see

So far I haven’t received any emails about Drama since the original call backs. I’ve talked to Travis and Shana and Connor about it, and they all told me I need to talk to Liz, but I never see Liz. Travis said he’d talk to her about making sure I’m on the email list, but knowing him, I’m not actually sure it’ll happen. They had a lot of interest as far as the tech department, so I told Travis that I’m not going to try too hard. If I don’t hear from them, I’m not going to keep bugging them; I’ll just assume they don’t need me. So as of the original meeting, as far as I know/have been told, we haven’t had any tech meetings, which also means that they haven’t started building the set that they said was going to take a lot of work.

    Just saying

  • Drama Postponed

So, I went home this weekend to baby sit my kitty and assumed that I missed the Drama meeting yesterday (Sunday), but when I asked Corinne, she told me that Drama had been postponed. But apparently I didn’t get the e-mail (which is nothing new). Travis has been having a bad week so I’ll probably bug either Connor or Liz about that. But yeah, it’s good to know that I’m not getting the e-mails, again.

  • Another semester of Drama

So yesterday I went to the first Drama meeting for this semester with Megan (I’ll add her tumblr name when I find it), and it was fun. We showed up, said hi to Travis, then left again (we had to go potty). We laughed about that little scene until we got back and sat down. They were in the middle of introductions, which was awesome. There are a lot of new people in Drama this semester/year and I’m super excited because it should be interesting.

We’re going to be doing some play which is pretty much Clue. The characters (according to Liz and her brief introductions) will be a ton of fun. There are a few more techies this time, but that’s good because we’re going to have a lot of building to do (according to Connor).

Auditions are this Tuesday (at some random time that I have no idea of), so Liz should hopefully have a cast put together by the end of next week? It will be fun getting to know everyone. I would assume that our first rehearsal/get together will be the Sunday after that?

Overall, Drama should be fun this year and I’ll try to remember to keep up with this and post after each meeting/rehearsal/etc.

  • Drama Journal #2

6 more days until opening night. Todays rehearsal started off slow; playing with props and trying on costumes, but now we’ve started some actual rehearsal. More people seemed to have gather in the lighting/sound booth. Normally it’s just Paige, Kellie, and I, but now Zach (who plays the doctor) is hanging out with us. Having Zach in here tends to drag other people in here, which let me tell you, makes it very hard to hear people, even with the speaker in here. But the show must go on.

Nothing exciting has happened so far really, other than some hacking of facebooks, but other than that, nothing too great.

Yeah, we’re taking a break from drama rehearsal now to go get food. I’ll come back when we start up the second part of today.

  • Drama Journal: #1

So we have 7 days of rehearsal left before opening night. I would say most of the lines are down, but a lot of the scenes could use some serious work. But that’s not what this journal is about. This journal is about the weird and funny stuff that happens during drama.

The main event of drama rehearsal today was a scream in the dark. Between scenes, about half way through the day, as Kendra (who plays Blance) and David (who plays Mitch) walked off stage to ready for the next scene—all the lights in the auditorium off—we heard a scream. Upon hearing it, I turned the lights back up quickly to see what happened (thinking someone got hurt). After a thorough investigation by someone, David announced, ”It was pitch black, I don’t know why, Jason just touched her.” The rumors started shortly after that. “He touched her?” “Where did he touch her?” and so on. This ordeal was mentioned on and off until the end of rehearsal.

I interviewed Jason (who plays Steve) and found out what really happened:

“It was pitch black, I was just sitting there as Blanch and Mitch were going off to go on their date and Blanch was feeling around in the dark like, “I hope I don’t walk into anything”, and all I did was this, just like this,” Jason then crouched low in a chair and put his hands up like claws and whispered the word Bah, “then she freaked and screamed bloody murder.” He then proceeded to scream just like Kendra had.

    End of Part 1

    Part 2

After rehearsal was over, Kendra mentioned that she still needed to film something, so it was decided we would record the last scene of the play, but she made on mistake: “I won’t even use the audio, I don’t need sound.”

The cast then decided to go through the last scene of the play, which is very dramatic and serious, however Travis (who plays Stanley) decided to go back stage and take his pants off. I can’t even begin to describe what happened after that, but at this point, Travis is wearing a shirt, cowboy boots, and boxer-briefs. His pants, I’m not sure about those; someone hid them. Please keep in mind that this is being recorded. I will do my best to get that video and post it if i can.

    End of Part 2

    End of Drama Journal #1

    P.S.: Travis found his pants.
